This entry level Distribution Generalist warehouse position, under thedirection of distribution leadership, concentrates efforts on the manual labor aspects of distribution center operations fordeliveriesrequiring driving, unloading trucks, using warehouse equipment, maintaining clean facilities, record keeping and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Actively participates in the daily operations under the direction distribution leadership. Responsible for unloading bundles of newspapers from delivery trucks, verifying receipt of complete paper draw, and distributing proper allocation of copies for delivery. Use and maintenance of pallet jack, pallet walker, recharger, strapping machine and other equipment. Assisting drivers in off-loading arriving tractor trailers, storing materials, reloading trucks within established deadlines. Deliver open geographic territories. Deliver replacement copies at the customers request. Learn layout of all geographic territories serviced from the distribution center and periodically audit routes for efficiency. On occasion, may assist in maintaining a daily record of: contracted geographic territories serviced, truck and contracted carrier arrival times, systems problems and answers to customer complaints. Using automobile, visually verify delivery of newspapers and other products. All other warehouse and housekeepingduties, asassigned.

Technical and Functional Competence in the use and maintenance of material handling equipment, and the ability to be certified in the use of this equipment. Proficient in the use of internet tools and ability to learn PCF applications (e-time, RouteSmart, Microsoft Outlook). Ability to professionally communicate information in different ways until it is understood by customers, peers and Delivery Service Providers. Ability to learn layout of geographical area serviced from Distribution Center. Ability to develop strong knowledge of the Delivery Service Provider Agreement. Ability to meet and/or exceed the established customer service objectives. Strong mathematical skills and the ability to count bundles of products and distribute with accuracy. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus. Must have access to a reliable vehicle, valid drivers license in the state where residing, and automobile insurance at limits required by PCF and maintain driving record in adherence with PCF guidelines.
Required Physical Abilities Able to routinely lift heavy items. Able to unload bundles of newspapers (30 50 lbs each) multiple times on a daily basis. Able to operate automobile. Able to deliver open routes, perform visuals in the field and associated other work in the territory Able to adequately move around the facility, both inside and outside

Experience, Education and Certifications Required
Experience Required No previous experience required. Third shift work experience a plus.
